Frequently Asked Questions
Here are a few of the questions I'm often asked. If you have any other questions about acupuncture treatment, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Is acupuncture safe?
Absolutely, acupuncture performed by a properly qualified, accredited, and experienced practitioner is a safe, efficient and effective treatment for your health and wellbeing.
I have a phobia of needles. Can you still help me?
Yes! Most of my treatments are now carried out using just a single needle, but I also offer Laser Acupuncture, which provides a needleless alternative for most conditions.
How much are treatments?
Costs can vary depending on the type of treatment and number of sessions required. For more details, please visit my pricing page.
How many treatments will I need?
Its hard to say as everyone responds differently. I usually suggest starting with 4-6 weekly sessions, and then we can often space things out a bit more. If you have an acute or short lived injury you can see results in two or three sessions.
Can I have acupuncture during pregnancy?
Yes, acupuncture is proven to be safe and effective during pregnancy. Find out more here.
Can acupuncture help me with a musculoskeletal injury?
Yes! Acupuncture can help address all sorts of aches and pains, from back pain to specific muscle issues. Please get in touch to discuss your specific condition.
Could my health insurance cover my treatment costs?
Possibly! More and more insurers are seeing the benefit of offering coverage for acupuncture treatments so if you have a policy I always recommend asking the question. You can find more information here.
Is acupuncture suitable for children?
Yes! I offer shorter, gentler treatments for children of all ages, utilising the Japanese Shonishin approach. Find out more about treatments for children here.
